- 1). Wipe down the outside of your mailbox with a damp cloth. This will remove any outdoor debris or dirt.
- 2). Scrape off any old letters using a putty knife or utility knife.
- 3). Peel the adhesive backing off the last number of the address. Center the number in between the top and bottom of the mailbox. Smooth the number, sticky side down on to the mailbox surface, from top to bottom.
- 4). Remove the adhesive backing from the number in front of the last. Position the number and smooth it down. Do not overlap the numbers.
- 5). Continue adding the numbers, evening them out as you go along. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the mailbox.
