- 1). Open the supply valve on the gas line to the Mongoram grilltop, turning the knob counterclockwise for a propane model. If you use natural gas, turn the handle so it is parallel to the gas line.
- 2). Dial one of the burner controls to the "Lite/Hi" position. You should immediately hear and smell gas. If not, verify whether your propane tank has fuel or contact your natural gas provider to determine if there is a problem with the utility. Check the hoses below the grill top to confirm they are not bent or kinked. If you have fuel, continue troubleshooting.
- 3). Remove the grill grates to inspect the igniter from the left or right side of the grilltop. Do not peer directly into the grilltop or place any part of your body over the appliance.
- 4). Push in the igniter knob. A spark should arc across the igniter to the stainless steel burners with normal operation. If not, the igniter may be worn out and must be replaced.
- 5). Clear the burner inlets on the back of the Monogram control panel with a pipe cleaner. The inlets pull off the valve stems on the back of the panel. Swab out any debris in the inlets and push them back onto the valve stems.
- 6). Turn all control knobs to the "OFF" position if the igniter clicks repeatedly. This is a sign that one of the valves is stuck. Shutting off the control knobs clears the problem.
