How to Wash Yellow & Brown Spots

    Remove Yellow Armpit Stains on White Shirts

    • 1). Lay a towel out flat on a level location. Place the shirt on the towel with the yellow spots facing upward.

    • 2). Mix equal parts cool water and 12 percent hydrogen peroxide in a small container.

    • 3). Pour the mixture slowly onto the yellow armpit stains. Allow the mixture to soak into the yellow stains for 30 minutes.

    • 4). Launder the shirt in cool water as you normally would.

    Remove Yellow Armpit Stains on Colored Shirts

    • 1). Lay a towel out flat on a level location. Place the shirt on the towel with the yellow spots facing upward.

    • 2). Mix 1 tbsp. of white vinegar with 1/2 cup of cold water. Slowly pour the mixture over the yellow spots.

    • 3). Allow the mixture to soak on the shirt for 30 minutes.

    • 4). Launder the item in cool water as you normally would.

    Remove Yellow Over-Bleaching Spots on White Clothing

    • 1). Mix 1/2 cup of cool water and 1/4 tsp. of a commercial color remover in a small container.

    • 2). Lay the garment on a flat location with the yellow spots facing upward.

    • 3). Saturate a white cloth in the mixture. Blot the yellow spots with the saturated cloth until the stain is no longer visible.

    • 4). Launder the item as you normally would.

    Remove Brown Spots from Clothing

    • 1). Rinse excess mud, dirt, blood, fecal matter or chocolate off the clothing by allowing cool running water to flush the excess items off the clothing.

    • 2). Place a towel flat on a level location. Lay the clothing on the towel with the brown spots facing upward.

    • 3). Fill a small container with 12 percent hydrogen peroxide. Apply the hydrogen peroxide with an eyedropper to blood stains. If the brown spots are caused by something other than blood, skip this step.

    • 4). Rub a prewash stain treatment into the brown spots. Make sure the spots are thoroughly saturated with the stain treatment. Allow the treatment to soak into the clothing for 15 minutes.

    • 5). Launder the item as you normally would.
