How to Get a Goat Milk Stain Out of the Carpet

    • 1). Soak up any goat's milk stain substance with a layer of paper towels. Press the paper towels into the carpet to wick up the goat's milk and continue doing so, with clean paper towels, until you've removed as much liquid as possible.

    • 2). Combine, in a bowl, 2 cups warm water and 1 tbsp. liquid hand dish washing detergent. Swish the solution around with your fingers to create soap suds.

Dip a clean sponge into the soap suds solution. Wring out excess liquid so you are working with the least amount of moisture possible. Sponge the goat's milk stain on your carpet, starting at the exterior of the stain and working toward the middle. Reapply fresh soap suds and continue to blot at the milk stain.

    • 4). Mix 2 cups warm water and 1 tbsp. ammonia in a separate bowl. Use this solution to lift any remaining goat's milk stain on your carpet. Wet a clean cloth with the cleansing solution, squeeze out excess moisture and dab at the goat's milk stain.

    • 5). Rinse the carpet with a clean cloth, dampened with plain water. Flush the cloth with water. Squeeze it out. Continue to blot at the carpet to remove the ammonia and dish washing detergent solutions.

    • 6). Stir together 1 cup white vinegar and 2 cups warm water to tackle any remaining traces of goat's milk stain on your carpet. Dab the vinegar solution on the stain to lift and loosen. Rinse the carpet with a clean damp cloth.

    • 7). Remove excess moisture from your carpet with a wet vacuum. Move the wet vac back and forth over the site of the stain to extract moisture from the cleaning process. Let the carpet air dry.
