- 1). Fill a spray bottle with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup white vinegar, or use full-strength vinegar if the soap scum is months old or extensive.
- 2). Spray the glass shower doors inside and out with a liberal amount of vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit on the scummy shower doors for 30 minutes to an hour.
- 3). Fill a bucket with clean, warm water. Dip a sponge in the bucket and wipe away the soap scum, starting from the top and working your way down. Rinse the sponge in the bucket as often as necessary.
- 4). Dry the glass shower doors with a squeegee or towel.
- 5). Dampen a cloth with mineral or lemon oil. Apply a thin, even layer of oil to the inside of the glass shower doors to prevent water spots and buildup. Wipe away any excess with a clean cloth.
