- 1). Take the plug or drain cover out of your sink or bathtub.
- 2). Boil 4 cups of water on your stove.
- 3). Pour ½ cup of dish soap into your drain; follow the soap with the boiling water. When the soapy water has cleared, run clean, hot water through the drain.
- 1). Hold the plunger on top of the clogged drain.
- 2). Compress the plunger 10 to 20 times.
- 3). Run hot water through the drain to see if the clog has come clear.
- 1). Take the plug or drain cover out of your sink or bathtub.
- 2). Pour 1 cup of baking soda into your drain.
- 3). Follow the baking soda with 1 cup of vinegar.
- 4). Place plastic wrap over the drain and allow it to sit overnight.
- 5). Run hot water through the drain in the morning to clear out any remaining baking soda and vinegar.
