- 1). Measure the width of your quilt. Cut a strip of fabric 10 inches wide by the quilt's width measurement.
- 2). Fold a 1/2-inch on one end of the strip to the wrong side and press. Fold over another 1/2-inch, press and pin. Sew the pinned edge. Repeat on the other end of the strip.
- 3). Fold the strip in half, with the long edges matching and the wrong sides together. Pin the long edge together. Stitch the long edge using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. This will create a tube. Note: The seam will be on the right side of the tube.
- 4). Lay the tube on your work surface. Center the seam on top of the tube's length. Open the seam and press it flat. Press the tube flat.
- 5). Lay out your quilt with the back side facing up. Place the tube across the width of the quilt, with the seam side of the tube facing down. Center the length of the tube between the side edges of the quilt and position the quilt a 1/4-inch from the top edge. Pin the long sides of the tube to the quilt backing.
- 6). Hand stitch the long pinned edges to the quilt backing, using whatever stitch you desire. Note: Stitch only to the backing fabric, so the stitches are not visible on the quilt's front.
- 7). Attach cafe rod brackets to your wall, using the tools needed for the brackets. Insert the curtain rod through the fabric sleeve and hang the rod on the brackets.
