- 1). Plug the Kirby G3 into a working power outlet and press down on the top pedal on the base unit with your foot. This lowers the vacuum height adjustment. Press again until the vacuum is touching the carpet.
- 2). Turn the power switch to "On" and listen to the sound of the vacuum. The G3 will lower in tone when the height adjustment is correct. Press on the foot pedal again to change the height adjustment as necessary until the tone is low and the vacuum is sucking up dirt and debris from the floor.
- 3). Step down on the yellow pedal on the base unit. This places the G3 into tech drive, which provides extra power to move the vacuum. The G3 vacuum weighs around 20 pounds, so the additional assistance may help users propel the unit.
- 4). Push the vacuum in a forward motion over the area to be cleaned and then pull back to create a cleaning path. Repeat over the entire carpet surface, making overlapping sections.
- 5). Push down on the yellow pedal when cleaning is complete. This releases the tech drive and puts the G3 into neutral. Push down on the top pedal to raise the height adjustment and turn the power switch to "Off."
