    • 1). Pull the hood release lever under the dashboard on the driver's side of the Civic. Turn the engine off and move to the engine compartment.

    • 2). Lift the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable from the Civic's battery. Loosen the clamp on the negative battery cable with a 10 mm wrench. Lift the cable away from the negative battery terminal and rest it away from the battery. Return to the inside of the Honda.

    • 3). Pry the dash panel to the right of the driver's foot-well away from the dashboard with a trim panel removal tool. Remove the panel.

    • 4). Pry the center console dash panel away from the gear selector lever. Grab the panel once it is relieved from the center console and pull it away from the dashboard.

    • 5). Remove the four screws that hold the factory stereo into the Civic's stereo mounting bracket with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 7). Unplug the antenna cable from the back of the factory head unit.

    • 8). Plug the stereo wiring connectors into the wiring harness adapter leads. See the adapter's manual for exact connection locations.

    • 9). Slide the aftermarket stereo installation collar into the Honda's stereo dock. Push the collar into the dock until the front of the sleeve is level with the front of the vehicle's stereo dock opening. Fold the metal tabs just inside the collar downward with a flat screwdriver. Feed the stereo wiring with harness attached and the antenna cable, through to the front of the installation collar.

Replace the dash panel against the right side of the vehicle's foot-well and press against the panel until it snaps back into place. Return to the Civic's engine compartment.
