How to Use the Navigation in a 2006 Dodge Caravan

    Setup

    • 1). Turn on your 2006 Dodge Caravan. The opening screen for the DVD and navigation system will appear on the screen.

    • 2). Insert the DVD map disc in the DVD player. The navigation system will begin installing the maps and information. The opening screen will appear again when installation is complete.

    • 3). Drive in an area with without obstructions above you for a few miles to synchronize the navigation system.

    Navigation

    • 1). Press the "ON/VOL" button to turn on the system, then press the "NAV" button (or hold the center button on "the steering wheel's volume controls for 3 seconds) to bring up the navigation menu. If this is the first time you've used the system, or the first time since installing a software update, you'll be asked to agree with a license agreement. Press "Enter" to continue.

    • 2). Press the selection buttons on the interface to select "Destination" and press "Enter." Choose "Street Address" and press "Enter" to input a specific destination's address. You can also search points of interest, by phone number or by browsing a map and clicking on your desired destination.

    • 3). Click on "Street Name" on the "Find Address" screen to enter the address. On this screen you can also input the city name and browse or change the state or province of your search. Use the selector buttons to spell the street name. You need to press "Enter" after each character. You can just enter the first few letters and select "Street List" and press "Enter" to get a list.

    • 4). Select the street from the list and press "Enter." Enter the street number and press "Done." A screen appears to confirm the destination. Highlight "OK" and press "Enter." The map screen appears when the navigation system has planned the route.

    • 5). Drive and listen to the prompts. Your destination will show up on the map as a star, and the system will speak directions and show arrows on the screen to notify you of upcoming turns and highway exits. If you deviate from the route, the GPS will recalculate and adjust, so you can keep driving.
