- 1). Tap the "+" button near the temperature display until "Regular" lights up; "Airing" mode is designed for delicate fabrics and doesn't use any heat. The dryer freshens up and removes moisture from clothes using room temperature air. Turning off "Airing" mode restores the heat function.
- 2). Take out some of the items in the drum and try again; there might be too many clothes for the dryer to work efficiently. Heavily soaked duvets and upholstery should be dried separately for best results. One washing machine load equals one dryer load.
- 3). Empty the dryer's lint screen and clean out the exhaust pipe; a blockage of lint in either location will severely restrict the hot air flow among the clothes. Try running the dryer once the lint screen and exhaust pipe have been reconnected. The lint screen should be cleaned at the end of every cycle.
- 4). Drain the dryer's water tank, if fitted, down the nearest sink. Some dryers that don't have an exhaust pipe collect moisture from clothes in a plastic tank. When full, or nearly full, the dryer's efficiency is greatly reduced. Most dryers automatically shut off when the tank is completely full.
- 5). Verify the dryer's gas supply, if necessary. The shut-off valve within the gas line behind the appliance and the main valve for the home should be open. Check, refill or replace the LP tanks if your dryer uses them for heat.
