How to Pot Seeds

    • 1). Pour potting soil or compost into the pot about three-quarters of the way up. This is done so that when watered, the soil will not flow out.

    • 2). Spread seeds out on top of the potting soil or compost. Make sure that they are not all in one area but spread throughout the soil.

    • 3). Pour about 1/2 to 1 inch of potting soil or compost on top of the seeds.

    • 4). Water the seeds. Be sure to use a sprayer so that it just mists the seeds. If it is a hard spray, then the seeds will come up and won't produce.

    • 5). Place the pot in a sunny location. Be sure to read about the seeds you are planting. Some will need sun all day while others will need to be shaded at times.
