- 1). Decorate your miniature dollhouse with wallpaper samples. You can find these samples for free or inexpensively at any local interior decoration shop. Ask for samples of wallpaper that may be out of style or no longer for sale. Use these sheets to decorate the walls on the inside of your dollhouse.
- 2). Paint the exterior of the dollhouse any color you desire. You can paint it a more traditional white, peach, brown or yellow, or you can use any other color of your choosing. You can find paint made specially for dollhouses at any specialty craft or hobby store. Use small brushes for fine details, such as areas around windows and doors, and wider brushes for larger areas, such as walls without windows.
- 3). Put down carpeting on the inside of your dollhouse. You can also find carpet samples from an interior decoration store and use them to carpet the inside of your miniature dollhouse. Measure the dimensions of the rooms in your dollhouse to determine how the samples should be cut once you get them. You can adhere the carpet with superglue or a hot glue gun.
- 4). Outfit your mini dollhouse with furniture made specially for dollhouses. Specialty furniture for dollhouses can be found at hobby stores or craft stores and can add a touch of flare to the spaces in your dollhouse. There are different styles of furniture that you can use to create a different atmosphere in your dollhouse: modern, Victorian, elegant or rustic are just a few. You can mix and match furniture or use furniture that is all the same style.
