Scrapbook Page Ideas for School Parties

Scrapbooking pictures of your child's school parties is an excellent way to remember special occasions and events from his time in school. Attend these parties and take several pictures of your son and his friends. If you are responsible for bringing cupcakes, take photos of your child helping you make cupcakes before the party and catalog pictures of preparing for the party in your scrapbook.

    Theme

    • Many parties have a theme that is centered around an event, lesson or holiday. Decorate your scrapbook based on the theme of the party. For instance, if the party is a Thanksgiving celebration, include embellishments such as stickers and ribbon with a turkey day theme. Turkey stickers, charms or pictures of food are all reminders of this widely celebrated holiday. Dedicate several pages for this event. Include photos of food preparation and your child's school party.

Choose plain colored or patterned card stock that complements the photos or symbolizes your theme. Card stock is the background paper of your scrapbook. Colors that work well for autumn holidays are orange, brown and red. However, you can also choose patterned card stock featuring turkeys or fall leaves.

    Layouts

    • There are several ways to create an attractive scrapbook layout. When choosing a layout, avoid using too many pictures and place all your photos on the paper selected before gluing them on. Predetermine your layout before getting out your glue stick. Too many photos on one page only create clutter. Instead select one large photo or two to three smaller photos at the most. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You can use wallet sized photos to create a border around the page. Vary your layouts for each page and only select the best photos.

    Games

    • Games are often a highlight of a school party. If games are involved, ask the teacher if you can save items from the game to include in your scrapbook. For instance, if each child was instructed to draw a picture or make a cardboard puzzle, glue these items into pages in your book. Save decorations from the party to dress up the page as well.
