How to Vacuum Your Above-Ground Swimming Pool Correctly

    • 1). Scrub the pool floor gently, along with the sides of the pool, using a pool brush or a soft bristled brush attached to a pole.

    • 2). Attach the pool vacuum head to the telescoping pole and attach the pool vacuum hose to the pool vacuum head. Place the skimmer basket attachment on top of the skimmer basket to help avoid any possible clogs in the skimmer.

    • 3). Turn off the automatic pool chlorinator, if the pool is equipped with one, and turn on the pool filter.

    • 4). Place the vacuum head into the pool and move it slowly across the bottom of the entire pool. Remove the vacuum from the pool and store it in a cool dry place, away from chemicals.

    • 5). Turn the automatic pool chlorinator back on and run the pool filter as normal.
