Types of LED Aquarium Lights

LED lighting has become quite popular in saltwater aquariums, but it has benefits in freshwater aquariums as well. If you are considering lighting options for your aquarium, take a look at these LED lights.

Marineland LED Aquarium Hood

Marineland offers an LED light that is incorporated into the aquarium hood. Included are two lighting features - one for daytime and one for night. The daytime light is white and offers plenty of bright light, yet takes less power than comparable fluorescent lights. The night light is blue, and is prefect for nocturnal fish, as well as the aquarium owner who would like to observe the tank at night. Available in 20 inch, 24 inch and 30 inch sizes. One notable concern is the opening for the filter is rather small and does not fit all filter models. However, a number of owners have reported that it is relatively easy to cut a larger opening. Prices for this product vary greatly, so do some shopping around before making your purchase.More »
