Marineland offers an LED light that is incorporated into the aquarium hood. Included are two lighting features - one for daytime and one for night. The daytime light is white and offers plenty of bright light, yet takes less power than comparable fluorescent lights. The night light is blue, and is prefect for nocturnal fish, as well as the aquarium owner who would like to observe the tank at night. Available in 20 inch, 24 inch and 30 inch sizes. One notable concern is the opening for the filter is rather small and does not fit all filter models. However, a number of owners have reported that it is relatively easy to cut a larger opening. In addition to a full hood LED light, Marineland also offers stand alone LED lighting systems. The units are adjustable and range in size from 18 inches to 60 inches. Single Bright and Double Bright systems are available and each includes both white LED and blue LED lights. All models have expected lifetime of 17,000 hour. Prices for these will run higher than the hood style, and like the hood model will vary considerably by seller.
