How to Control Aphids on Hibiscus

    • 1). Choose an insecticide labeled for the control of aphids and for use on garden ornamentals. Ensure that the insecticide label states that it is a “systemic” product. This type of insecticide is delivered to the soil where it is absorbed into the hibiscus, killing the aphids.

    • 2). Pour half of the label-recommended amount of water into the bucket. Add the insecticide, then add the remaining half of the water while swirling the bucket.

    • 3). Pour the insecticide solution onto the soil, as close to the hibiscus' main stem as you can get. Pour it slowly so that the soil absorbs it.

    • 4). Water the hibiscus with 1 gallon of water, unless the insecticide label states otherwise.
