How to Use a Fresh Aloe Vera Gel Plant

    • 1). Use a knife to cut an aloe leaf off of the plant at the very bottom. The knife should be sharp for easier cutting, as the leaves of an aloe plant can be very thick.

    • 2). Remove the spiky edges of the leaf by trimming them with scissors or running a knife around the edge of the leaf.

    • 3). Slice off the green, top layer of the leaf to reveal the gel pack.

    • 4). Apply the gel directly onto your skin. You may apply liberally, as you can simply slice off the top layer of the gel pack to reveal more of the aloe juice after the top layer has dried.
