How to Make a Dinosaur Hat Using Construction Paper

    • 1). Cut out the dinosaur parts from the construction paper color that your child wants for his dinosaur. Cut 4 legs for the dinosaur that measure 4 inches. Cut an 11-inch tail that is wide at the top and becomes narrower until it ends in a point. Cut a rounded head with a neck that is 9-inches long. The head and neck should look like a long fat finger that is narrow on the top and wider at the end

    • 2). Use markers, crayons or coloring pencils to create the mouth and nostrils. Have your child decorate the dinosaur with polka dots, squiggly lines, straight lines or any design he can dream up.

    • 3). Cut out a band for the body of the dinosaur that is about 28 inches wide. Fit the band to your child’s head. Glue or staple the ends of the band.

    • 4). Use double-sided tape, stapler or craft glue to attach the body parts to the dinosaur. Attach 2 legs to each side of the band. Attach the tail to the inside back of the band.

    • 5). Run a ruler along the head/neck pieces to give the paper a curvy shape and so it can hang forward over the front of the hat. (Think brontosaurus.) Attach the head/neck to the inside of the front of the band.

    • 6). Glue googly eyes to the head.
