- Kodak all-in-one printers include the ESP 3, ESP 7 and ESP 7250 models. The scanner on the Kodak printers scans minor details without image distortion. Kodak all-in-ones have pre-scan options so you can see what the machine "sees," making adjustments easy. Kodaks also come with Kodak EasyShare software for photo editing and can sync with online scrapbook albums.
- Although an older model, the Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner is a gem. Available through the Mustek website or online auction sites, the 1200 UB offers precision scanning and Photo Express software. Although this scanner was originally created to run on the Windows 98 operating system, Mustek updated the drivers so it is compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
- The Epson V500 scans images and photo negatives, as it has a negative slide holder. Adobe Photoshop Elements comes with the scanner, which will help you edit images. At times, scanning photos from the negatives may result in noise, but Photoshop can eliminate these blemishes. Photoshop Elements can also link to your digital scrapbook.
- Known as the supreme scanner, the Coolscan has extra-low dispersion lenses for better contrast levels. This scanner uses LED illumination technology, capturing even minute details. The Coolscan has a 4,000-bit optical resolution card, making photos more vivid. Coolscan also scans images from negatives and microscope slides.
