- 1). Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the CD/DVD drive and reboot the computer. Press any key to boot from the CD, when prompted. The computer will boot into the Windows XP installation routine.
- 2). Press "Enter" to start the Windows XP installation. Do not enter the Windows Recover mode at this point.
- 3). Press "F8" to accept the Terms of Service agreement.
- 4). Select the Windows XP installation on which to perform the repair installation using the "Up" and "Down" arrows on the keyboard.
- 5). Press the "R" key on the selected Windows installation to repair.
- 6). Click "Next" when prompted, and follow the on-screen prompts. Windows XP will be repaired and system files are replaced. The computer will reboot into the repaired installation when finished.
