How Do I Disable Undesired Programs From Running at Startup?

    • 1). Click on the "Start" button at the lower-left corner of your computer screen.

    • 2). Select the "Run" option from the "Start" list. Once you have selected that option, a text box will pop up.

    • 3). Type msconfig.exe in the text box and press "Enter." The Microsoft configuration menu will appear.

    • 4). Choose the "Startup" tab from the selections that run across the top of the configuration window.

    • 5). Disable any of the programs in the list by clicking on the white box next to the program name and eliminating the green check mark. If there is not a green check mark in the white box, the program is already disabled.

    • 6). Choose "Apply" at the bottom of the configuration menu once you have disabled the programs you want to disable.

    • 7). Re-start your computer.
