How to Get the Suggested Retail Value on Cars

    • 1). Log onto Kelly Blue Book's website to get the suggested retail value for used cars. Its website can be found at www.kbb.com. Enter your zip code to proceed to the home page.

    • 2). Select the "Used Car" tab located at the top of the page. Choose the vehicle category. SUV, convertible, sedan and wagon are examples of the various categories available to choose from.

    • 3). Choose your vehicle make and model. Select the "Suggested Retail Value" link and select all of your vehicle details. This information includes the engine type, mileage, drive train,whether the transmission is automatic or manual.

    • 4). Select the type of equipment that's loaded into the vehicle. Click the "Continue" button to view the suggested retail value of your vehicle.

    • 1). Log onto Edmunds.com to determine the value of your car. Make sure the "Used Car" tab is selected. Under the Appraise and Research section select the "Appraise" link.

    • 2). Select the car model, year and category.

    • 3). Select vehicle details. Enter the vehicle's mileage, choose the optional equipment, select the vehicle condition and enter your zip code.

    • 4). Click the "Get Pricing Report" button to review the Edmunds pricing report.
