- 1). Turn your computer on and access the BIOS screen by pushing "DEL" or "F1" on most computers during the computer's startup. Check with the computer manufacturer's site and manual for the specific BIOS access key command for your machine.
- 2). Change the "Boot Priority" to boot first from CD, so that Knoppix will be loaded before another operating system.
- 3). Place the Knoppix disc in the DVD/CD-ROM drive and restart the computer. Knoppix should now boot automatically from that drive. If Knoppix is still not loading, go to the next step.
- 4). Make another copy of your Knoppix disc. Often times, seemingly minimal errors occur during the disc creation process that can block Knoppix from loading. With a correctly made Knoppix disc, and the right boot priority in BIOS, Knoppix should now be able to be run from the disc drive.
