How to Remove Cured Adhesive on Wall Tiles

    • 1). Scrape any adhesive you can remove with the razor scraper, working parallel with the tile and being careful not to gouge it. If you have a large amount to clean off, place a drop cloth on the ground to protect the floor from a mess.

    • 2). Heat stubborn or very old adhesive by covering it with a cotton rag and holding a hot iron against it for about 5 seconds. The heat will soften the adhesive. Scrape it off immediately. Continue heating and scraping until the majority of the adhesive has been removed.

    • 3). Wipe or spray the adhesive film still on the tile with the orange-oil based cleaner. Let it sit for about 60 seconds and then scrub it off with a plastic scouring cloth. This should remove any leftover adhesive.

    • 4). Wash the tile with a rag soaked with warm, soapy water, rinse and wipe dry. It will be clean and free from any old adhesive.
