- 1). Lay plastic drop cloths along the floor where you will be working. Removing efflorescence requires a lot of water and the drop cloths will minimize the mess.
- 2). Fill a bucket with warm water. Use a large sponge to thoroughly saturate the areas of efflorescence.
- 3). Fill an empty spray bottle with white vinegar. Saturate the areas thoroughly with the vinegar.
- 4). Scrub the areas of efflorescence with a stiff scrub brush until spots are gone. Apply more vinegar, if necessary.
- 5). Rinse the area well with a sponge and warm water. Let the wall dry completely and inspect for any traces of efflorescence. If any efflorescence is still there, repeat scrubbing with the vinegar.
