- 1). Set the adjustable circle cutter to 2 inches. Attach the circle cutter to the drill press. Center the drill bit in the exact center of the 4-inch wooden circle and cut a 2-inch hole. Repeat this procedure with the all wooden circles except the largest circle.
- 2). Apply glue on the bottom of the 10-inch wood circle and center the circle on top of the 12-inch wood circle. Drive two finishing nails through the top of the stack an inch away from the 2-inch hole. Repeat this step with the remaining wooden circles, making sure to line the 2" holes up exactly. Allow the wood glue to dry overnight to obtain a solid base.
- 3). Squeeze wood glue down the 2-inch hole in the stacked wood base. Insert the wood pole into the hole. Push the pole all the way in the base until it hits the solid bottom board. Screw a 2-inch long wood screw through the solid wood base up into the pole with a power screw driver. Leave the project overnight to allow the glue time to fully dry.
- 4). Attach a decorative wooden curtain rod finial to the top of the pole. Stain the entire tree. Allow the stain to dry according to the manufacturer's suggested dry time.
- 5). Install the hooks on the wooden pole at the desired height using the hardware that came with them.
