How to Wash Towels With Ground-In Dirt

    • 1). Lay the towel on a flat surface, with the ground-in dirt facing up.

    • 2). Pour roughly one tablespoon of white vinegar onto the dirty portion of the towel. Then, add one tablespoon cornstarch to the same area.

    • 3). Scrub the vinegar and cornstarch into the towel with a soft-bristled brush.

    • 4). Leave the cleaning paste on the towel overnight.

    • 5). Place the towel in a washing machine. Pour one cup each of laundry detergent and white vinegar into the machine.

    • 6). Wash the towel on a "Cool" cycle, and dry it as you normally would.
