- 1). Lift the mower deck into its highest position with the mower deck height adjustment lever.
- 2). Drive the Troy Bilt mower onto a set of ramps to raise the front end off the ground. This gives you the ability to see under the mower deck. Set the parking break to prevent the mower from rolling backward.
- 3). Place a wooden block between the blade and the inner edge of the mower deck to prevent the blade from rotating.
- 4). Loosen the retaining nut located in the center of the blade on the deck shaft. Use a wrench to remove it.
- 5). Pull the blade off the deck shaft and then place the new blade onto the deck shaft. Wedge the wooden block in place. Tighten the retaining nut in place with the wrench.
- 6). Repeat the process on the other side of the mower deck with the second blade.
