How to Convert AVI to Sansa Fuze

    • 1). Go to an online conversion website, such as Media-Convert, Media Converter or Movavi Online Convert (see Resources). All of these converters have the ability to convert AVI files into MP4 files.

    • 2). Upload the AVI file you want to transfer to the Sansa Fuze by clicking the "Choose File" button in the program, locating the file in the box that comes up and double-clicking the file. The file appears in the converter screen as an attachment.

    • 3). Click the arrow by the drop-down menu next to "Output format." Choose "MP4" or "MPEG-4" from the list of available video formats.

    • 4). Press the "Convert" or "OK" button to start the conversion process. All three programs display a status bar to monitor the progress of the conversion on the screen. Once the conversion is finished, a download link for the converted file appears.

    • 5). Click on the download link and choose "Save to computer." Enter a name for the file in the window that comes up, select the folder where you want to save the file and click "Save." The file saves to the folder on your hard drive.

    • 6). Remove the SD card from your Sansa Fuze and insert it into the SD card slot on your computer. If your computer does not have a built-in card slot, you can use an SD reader that plugs into a USB port. When the "AutoPlay" box comes up, click the "Open folder to view files" link to open the SD card window, and drag the MP4 file from the folder it is stored in on the hard drive into the windows.

    • 7). Eject the SD card by right-clicking the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray and choosing "Eject." Once the card is safely ejected, remove it from the SD slot and reinsert it into your Sansa Fuze.
