- 1). Click the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel."
- 2). Select "System and Maintenance" and then select "Administrative Tools."
- 3). Double-click "System Configuration" and click "Continue."
- 4). Choose the "Startup" tab at the top of the System Configuration window. Browse down through the list of startup programs. Place check marks next to programs you wish to start when you start your computer. Remove check marks from programs you do not want to start when you start your computer.
- 5). Click "Apply" and then "OK."
- 6). Restart your computer to institute the startup changes you made.
- 1). Click "Start" then "Run," and enter "msconfig" into the empty field. Click "OK."
- 2). Select the "Startup" tab at the top of the system configuration utility.
- 3). Browse through the list of startup programs. Place check marks next to programs you wish to start when you start your computer. Remove check marks from programs you do not want to start when you start your computer.
- 4). Click "Apply" and then "OK."
- 5). Restart your computer to finish making the changes.
