Campground Review
I just got back from Strawberry Park with my husband, five kids and my cousin. We rented a house trailer, which was spotless. The park was very clean. The activities are awesome for all age kids and adults. My 13-yr-old daughter was leery of going away and left crying today because of all the great new friends she has made.
The food is great and reasonably priced. The golf cart rental is newt. Bingo isn't fixed, because I won five times in my week stay. We had a skunk eating our garbage, which was really cool to watch while we were out by our campfire. Also, a fox walked across the wall across from our site. We met nice people. Most were regulars while we were new to it all. The bathrooms were clean and the pools were always being cleaned. The bands, dances, and DJs were great.
I can't really say anything bad about my experience. They are strict with the kids and teens, and they keep the noise down, which makes it a nice place to be and keeps respectful people coming back I guess. The owners of the units keep their places beautiful. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was that the regular seasonals take the games a little too serious. They wanted to knock out all the underdogs in the tournaments of any kind - ring toss, horseshoes or softball, but the staff keeps everything on a safe level. My kids ran free all week without me worrying about them (ages 2 1/2, 5 1/2, 8, 10 and 13).
This park is close to the lakes and Foxwoods. My kids swam in the lake and jumped from a rope across the pond. It was so cool for me to see my daughters experience that. Connecticut is clean, and I would go back, or I should say I better go back, or my kids will hate me.
