How to Convert a Bushnell Trail Cam to Solar Power

    • 1). Unplug the rubber cap on the AC-DC charger plug on the Bushnell Trail Cam. Plug the adapter charger jack into the charger plug on the camera.

    • 2). Mount the camera in your desired location. Run the cord down the tree or secured location and set the solar panel in a position where it maximizes the sun's rays. For example, if the mount of the camera sheds a shadow, find the location where the shadow is cast the least and position the solar panels appropriately.

    • 3). Check the charge of the camera every day or so to ensure the panels are working and charging the Trail Cam. when the Trail Cam charge light indicates green, unplug the panel, roll it up and store it until it is needed to recharge the Trail Cam.
