- 1). Cut the ends off of the snap green beans and cut the beans into 1- to 2-inch lengths.
- 2). Pour the water and the salt into the saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.
- 3). Add the snap green beans to the boiling, salted water and turn the heat down to medium.
- 4). Cover the pot and boil the beans until they turn bright green and become tender. Remove one of the beans to taste for a slight crunch to the overall soft texture of the bean.
- 5). Drain the beans by pouring the contents of the saucepan into the colander to strain over the sink. Add the cooked beans to your favorite recipe or eat as a side with salt and pepper to taste. See Resources for recipe ideas.
