- 1). Take your garbage out immediately, and continue to take out your garbage at least once a week.
- 2). Buy an airtight garbage can and compost bin to keep flies from breeding in your organic decay.
- 3). Ensure that your outdoor garbage is not near an entryway.
- 4). Remove any pet waste, such as cat or rodent litter, from the area and scoop often.
- 5). Use a soap solution to clean all surfaces that the flies might have touched.
- 1). Fill in any possible entryways, such as gaps in doorways, holes in screens and cracks in the house.
- 2). Use a trap, flyswatter or flypaper to catch any irritating flies before they can reproduce, if desired.
- 3). Use a chemical spray to kill the flies, if desired.
- 4). Vacuum up any dead flies.
