How to Repair a Suunto Watch

    Repairing the Watchband

    • 1). Find the watchband brackets. The brackets are on either side of the watch face. The watchband is held in place with a small pin, called a spring bar, that is inserted through a hole in the watchband. The pin has a spring inside that holds the sides of the pin in place in the bracket. It works just like a toilet tissue holder, but much much smaller.

    • 2). Slip the spring bar tool between the side of the watch band and the bracket. If the spatula is too thick, try a butter knife. A spring bar tool looks like a small metal spatula. Any thin metal tool will work such as a thin fingernail file, a small screw diver, or even a mini kitchen spatula.

    • 3). Pry the spring bar out of the bracket with the spring bar tool. Hold the newly freed end of the watchband carefully to prevent the spring bar from popping out of the watchband and getting lost.

    • 4). Slip the spring bar into the groove of the new watchband.

    • 5). Look at the inside of the bracket for the indentations that hold the spring bar in place.

    • 6). Slip one end of the spring bar into it's spot in the bracket. Tilt the spring bar so that it fits into the bracket behind the indentation. Gently tug the end of the watchband until the spring bar snaps into place.

    Complex Repairs

    • 1). Log on to the Suunto website and access the repair request page. You can request a local repair center, or seek factory repair.

    • 2). Fill out the forms that include the watch model and serial number, the nature of the problem and your location. If the watch is no longer under warranty, the repair can be paid for online.

    • 3). Give a convenient location. It can be a home, office, or even a hotel. A courier hired by Suunto will come to the location and pick up the watch.

    • 4). Wait for the repair. According to the Suunto website, repairs take about seven days.

    • 5). Accept the repaired watch. When the repairs are complete, a courier will return the watch to the site specified.
