- 1). Select a party theme that can be carried through in a pancake recipe. Choose a holiday or season, for example, and decorate the pancake, keeping with the theme. Celebrating seasonal fruits that can be mixed with the batter can lend itself to a harvest celebration theme. In the autumn, consider apple or pear pancakes. In the summer, pancakes made with fresh berries can be delicious. For the Fourth of July or New Year's Day, decorate your pancake with a firework theme. Fill a pastry bag with your favorite jelly and use it to draw fireworks on top of the pancake before serving.
- 2). Select a table setting that reflects your theme. Plates, silverware, tablecloths, napkins and glasses can help decorate a room and pull together the party concept. For example, if you've decided on a winter theme, use a tablecloth and napkins with snowflake patterns or dishes that have winter themes. If you're using place cards, these can also be decorated to suit your theme.
- 3). Make or purchase centerpieces that follow your theme. For example, pancakes celebrating a harvest theme can use cornucopia centerpieces. Consider incorporating pancake toppings into the centerpiece. For example, if maple syrup will be on the table, place it in a leaf shaped bowl.
