As individuals I feel it is only natural that we practice our spirituality in our own unique way.
Some believe in Christianity, others Islam or Hinduism, there are endless ways to find and be part of something bigger than ourselves.
The key is understanding we ARE part of something bigger.
I'm not going to pretend that I have been spiritual all my life; truth is I haven't been spiritual for the majority of my life.
But I woke up.
My life was in extreme turmoil and I felt a huge void in my life.
By the grace of my higher power and some incredible friends, I finally started to believe.
In the initial phases positive affirmation played a key role.
I figured out that I first had to accept and love myself before I could move forward.
That doesn't mean that I put myself on a pedestal above a higher power, but it was about finding any sense of humanity.
Granted in my younger days my arrogance would tell me I had all the answers, but I have fallen on my rear enough times to know better.
Part of the reward of the journey is gaining humility, gratitude, love, forgiveness, open-mindedness, and honesty.
These qualities have changed my life.
However, it didn't take place in a vacuum.
I had to let people in and listen to what others had to say and learn from their experiences.
So try some positive affirmation, meditate, and read or listen to someone else.
More and More people are becoming aware and seeking enlightenment.
