- 1). Push the lead wires of the PAF through the cavities that are drilled to run wire in the guitar. Mount the pickup.
- 2). Push back the mesh ground wire to expose the the positive wire. Strip protective wire conduit to expose approximately 1/8th inch of wire.
- 3). Wrap the exposed positive wire around the first leg of the volume potentiometer, which controls the output of the pickup's position, to create a mechanical connection.
- 4). Use the soldering iron to heat the back of the respective potentiometer. Press down on the ground mesh wire of the pickup with the soldering iron. Run solder over the area until the potentiometer and ground wire are one.
- 5). Lightly press on the positive lead connected to the first leg of the potentiometer with the loaded soldering iron. Remove the soldering iron as soon as solder begins to flow to prevent burning or damage.
