Many women get bacterial vaginosis (BV).
It's not comfortable at all for a woman.
Many women might be nodding their head in agreement.
If you have the symptoms of BV, you might be wondering what the treatment might be for this.
We will discuss the treatment of BV.
Due to the fact that BV is a bacteria infection, there only one treatment really.
This treatment consists of medication.
The medication that you would take would be antibiotics.
There are two types medication that are normally given when treating BV.
These can be given in two forms as well.
They can either be in pill form or they can be in a cream form.
Let's look at the two different types that they will prescribe you.
The first kind is called Metrindizole.
This is one of them that they can prescribe in either form.
This means that you can take it as a pill or as a cream.
It just depends on what the doctor gives you or what the pharmacy has in stock.
The other drug that they might give you for treatment is called Tinidazole.
This is only in a pill form.
When you compare the two prescribed drugs, you will find that Trinidazole is the better to have.
This is due to the fact that there aren't many side effects.
While you get rid of bacterial vaginosis, once you have it, the probability of you getting it again are rather high.
It is estimated that half the women who get this will get it again.
Normally they see this happen about twelve weeks after the first occurrence.
While you wonder why this happens, doctors generally don't know.
They just prescribe medication again and hope it works the second time around to keep it away once and for all.
