- 1). Read the owner's manual of the electric ice cream machine to understand the operating procedures for your specific model.
- 2). Remove the freezing core or chamber of the ice cream maker and place it into the freezer for at least 24 hours prior to churning the cream.
- 3). Replace the frozen core or chamber and pour in the light cream, sweetened condensed milk and your favorite flavoring extract.
- 4). Close the lid of the electric ice cream machine and turn it on to begin churning.
- 5). Run the machine according to the manufacturers directions until the ice cream has reached a thick consistency. This will usually take one to two hours on most home machines.
- 6). Sprinkle mix-ins like chocolate chips, marshmallows, frozen fruit, nuts or candies into the ice cream and stir them together with a wooden spoon.
- 7). Spoon the mix into an air-tight plastic container and place it in the freezer for one hour to firm up for scooping.
