The Most Common Causes of Divorce

A marital union is a joyful occurrence but it does not always stay as pleasant as it was at the beginning.
For one reason or another, a marriage may experience problems and can eventually end in divorce.
Though statistics have not officially been collected on the topic, there are several areas thought to be the most common causes of divorce.
Poor communication is one of the main issues in the downfall of any relationship, and marriage is no exception.
If spouses do not engage in ongoing open and honest communication, it can result in them becoming emotionally and physically distant from each other.
It can also lead to other issues, which can become reasons for dissolution of the marriage.
People may find themselves no longer committed to the union, so they do not put forth much effort, including that in the communication arena.
One or both parties may find that priorities change during the period of marriage and they become two very different people.
This can lead to situations such as infidelity, another key reason that many people separate.
Unless the spouses are able to find common ground and redevelop mutual appreciation, the marriage may end.
Financial problems are another key reason that people terminate their marriages.
One spouse may have entered into the union with pre-existing financial issues, unbeknownst to the other.
Or the issues may develop as the couple attempts to establish themselves professionally and socially.
As soon as the couple sees themselves falling into a financial abyss, they should take steps to rectify the issue.
Failure to properly communicate, lack of commitment, changing priorities, infidelity, and financial problems are just a few of the common causes of divorce.
Addressing these situations before they become major issues can help to save a marriage.
The commitment is ongoing and it requires daily work in order to be successful.
