Offroad Trails in Pennsylvania

    Rock Run Recreation Area

    • Rock Run Recreation Area is situated in the Allegheny mountains of Pennsylvania in Patton, about a half-hour northwest of Altoona. The park has over 50 miles of trails with varied terrain suitable for all skill levels. Trails are multi-use and can accommodate ATVs, ORVs, UTVs and motorcycles. Riders must register at the welcome center and show proof of valid ORV registration or purchase a Rock Run Park registration pass before riding the trails. Trails are two-way and are clearly marked with signage. Riders are required to wear protective gear and must stay on the marked trails. Riders are not permitted to blaze new paths or ride after 7 pm. While the park suggests that ATV riders do so in groups, drivers of ORVs must travel in groups with at least two vehicles. Single ORVs will not be permitted to travel alone. The park also features a gear and supply store, primitive camping and ATV rentals. The park has a strict no alcohol policy. Rock Run Recreation Area is open from April through October.

    Mines and Meadows ATV & RV Park

    • Mines and Meadows ATV & RV Park is secluded on 600 wooded acres in Wampum, less than an hour northwest of Pittsburgh. The park has more than 65 miles of trails designed for riding skills from beginner to advanced. Highlights of the park include an underground limestone mine trail and an eight-mile single-track motorcycle trail. Trails are two-way and can accommodate ATVs, ORVs and UTVs. Riders must register at the office and show proof of valid ATV registration and insurance, or purchase it there before riding the trails. Riders are required to wear protective gear and stay on marked trails. Riders are not permitted to blaze new paths or ride at night. The park features a campground with primitive tent camping, RV campsites with electricity, a rental cabin and four pop-up camper rentals. Other amenities include gear and ATV rentals, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, snack bar, gift shop, ATV wash and quad storage. The park has a strict no alcohol policy. Mines and Meadows ATV & RV Park is open year round.

    Rausch Creek Off Road Park

    • Rausch Creek Off Road Park is located in Tremont, just over an hour west of Allentown. The park has more than over 1,700 acres of easy, intermediate and hard trails for 4x4 ORVs only. Although trails are marked by signs, riders are encouraged to always carry a trail map. The minimum group size is two vehicles; single ORVs are not permitted to travel alone. Riders must register at the office and show proof of valid registration, a valid drivers license and proof of insurance. Riders are required to wear protective gear and stay on the marked trails. Riders are not permitted to blaze new paths or be on the trails after dusk. The park features a campground with free primitive camping. Alcohol is only permitted in the camping area and may only be consumed after riders are done wheeling for the day. Rausch Creek Off Road Park is open year round.
