How to Roast Garlic and Onions

    • 1). Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

    • 2). Separate and peel garlic cloves. Place in a roasting pan. Remove peel from the onion. Quarter the onion with a knife and place in the roasting pan.

    • 3). Lightly coat the garlic and onions in olive oil. Toss the garlic and onions in the pan to coat fully with the olive oil. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper or leave plain.

    • 4). Place roasting pan in the oven uncovered and roast, approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the onions are clear and the edges are brown. Ensure the garlic has turned golden brown.

    • 5). Remove roasting pan from the oven and allow roasted items to cool before use in other applications.

    • 6). Place garlic and onions directly into a stock if using for a soup. Use roasted garlic and onions in pasta sauce, soups, jam or serve as a side dish for meats.
