French press coffee maker is now making a rave in the States but it is praised by all coffee lovers and is the most popular press-pot, plunger pot or coffee press in Australia and Europe.
The easy to use press pot has one of the most popular methods of brewing coffee with the use of a cylindrical glass carafe and a stainless steel mesh filter which keeps the water separated from the coffee beans, thus has your coffee ready to be poured.
When you use a French press coffee maker and know how to make French press coffee, you will also know that it is not recommended to make coffee and have it left in the press for any period longer than 10 to 20 minutes.
It is always best to make just the amount of coffee that you will be able to finish in that period of time.
Due to the fact that it is not recommended to keep coffee in your French press coffee maker, it will be a good idea to pour out the coffee into another container if you had made too much or if you need to keep it warm because coffee continues to be extracted when it is in the French press coffee maker.
Your coffee can actually be scalded; therefore you should boil your water first before you begin the grinding process of the coffee beans.
While you are grinding the beans the water will be cooling down to the temperature that is right for brewing and that is your first lesson in how to make French press coffee.
If you have an electric kettle, you will be able to better judge the temperature of your boiled water, if not you can still use a regular kettle and boil the water on the stove top.
In doing this you are better able to get the temperature to roughly 200 degrees, which will be good for brewing.
You can also opt to fill the French press glass with water from your pipe with a heater, so that the hot water warms the glass and this will help to keep your coffee warm.
You will first have to remove the cover, the plunger and the filter before you fill the glass and pour out the water after the water from the kettle is boiled and is ready to use.
Coffee is grounded to course particles and water is being boiled, you are now on your way to making a great cup of coffee.
The coffee should be course or medium specifically so that the filter does not become blocked up.
You will add the coffee grinds and then the boiled water which will cause many of the grinds to float, so stir it calmly for a little awhile and they will go down again.
Now replace the parts, such as the plunger and filter and then let the coffee making begin.
