Psychic Dreams

Let’s begin by talking about psychic dreams which is probably what all “other” types of dreams fall under. Psychic dreams can’t be explained through science, so when dealing with dreams, the mind, the body, and the soul, one must be open minded to possibilities that there could forces out there that we cannot see and cannot be proven.

Psychic dreams usually occur when we are in deep sleep or the REM state of sleep, but can also happen under emotional distress that can cause random images collected from the conscious mind to form a message in the unconscious mind. The material that happens in psychic dreams comes from sources that do not usually exist in our conscious state such as random events happening in the dream that eventually lead to the real thing. For example, during a dream, one might feel a sudden emotion that can signifies an important event that will happen upon once a dreamer wakes up.

To learn more about these types of experiences, I asked my friend if she had ever had a similar dream somewhat to the type that I described above. She nodded, and started to tell me that once when she was 11 years old, she had a dream where she saw an image of her mom (who at that time was sick and dying). Her mom was an illusion and she felt scared, yet wanting the love of her mom at the same time. To assure that her mom’s love was still there, she told me that she felt a sudden moment where her mom moved forward at her to give her a hug. She expressed this moment to me as she wrapped her arms around her body and told me that the emotion she felt was very “cold.” Upon this coldness, she was awoken by her sister’s voice. However, the news that she heard was that they had just found out that their mom had just passed away. Both the sister and her, then, rushed to the hospital together.

I told her I was sorry about what had happened. Although this type of dream has never happened to me, there are instances where people have had dreams that predicted the future such Abraham Lincoln dreaming of his own death three days prior to his assassination, or the woman who dreamt of the US being attacked by an unknown force in Southern California later to be discover that it was Mexican Vessel fired at boat in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego.

Psychic dreams come in variety of forms. The can predict the future or that can feel like your soul is being placed somewhere else in the universe. Some psychic dreams that we will explore together include:

Prophetic Dreams – Dreams where the future events are told or foreseen.

Warning Dreams – Dreams where future events can be depicted in such a way where one has a chance to alter the results to something that is more likable to him or her.

ESP Dreams – Communication between minds. This is known as telepathy. Other types of ESP Dreams include dreams which occur from the past that were unknown to the dreamer who then experiences them in the dream.

Out-of-the-Body Experiences – The dreamer experiences his or her inner self leaving the physical body and then traveling to other events or places in time.

Survival Dreams – Communicating with the world’s beyond or to souls.

Reincarnation Dreams – The dreamer relives a different lifetime, perhaps also, as as a different entity.

Some psychic dreams also include using puns or wordplay. These types of dreams give you a small clue, in which that clue is a symbol of something that won’t make sense until you wake up and discover that it ironically does. For example, you might go to sleep then suddenly see a horse, then waking up with a sore throat. The image of the horse will then have represented the word “hoarse” which means having a rough or harsh voice.

Psychic dreams can tell us something about ourselves, about the things that we are scare to discover or things that we tend to ignore, but the unconscious is trying to point us out in that direction. Usually, the dreams that give us the strongest emotional reactions are the closest to being psychic dreams. These emotions can include feeling fear, feeling hatred, feeling revengeful, feeling inspired, or feeling enlightened.

Tomorrow, we will delve into the first of many psychic dreams, ones that have been used in stories and plays for many years, and probably the most common, known “psychic” dream there is which, are the ones that help us predict the future called prophecy dreams.
