Asian Statues is really a broad search query term on the internet.
I my search for Asian faith based icons, décor, antiques and artifacts, I have found this two-word search term to be very valuable.
It brings up a plethora of web sites selling a wide variety of merchandise.
Sometimes I find just what I am looking for...
and other times I have to go deep into the query pages before I find any thing of interest.
Of course with any search engine - optimizing one's search if the very best way to find what you are actually looking for.
For example I wouldn't use Asian Statues when I was looking for Hindu Statues.
And for sure I wouldn't use such a general term with hunting down that perfect "garden Buddha statue.
" Recently I was doing some research on Asian statues and found it very enlightening.
I discovered many different types, styles, makes and categories.
What was surprising to me was to learn about other Asian status other than Buddha, Kwan Yin, Ganesh or Shiva.
Among these new discoveries of mine was to learn about the importance of the Chinese Dragon Statues for protection.
Other statues were of the: horse, elephant, mouse, crane, martial art dolls, Hakata dolls, turtle, monkey, terracotta figures and who could leave out the tiger! This by no means is an exhaustive list of my discoveries nor an explanation of their individual symbolism.
I hope this wets your thirst to learn more for your self and or to write some tightly focused articles on specific statue symbolism.
