How to Encode an AVI File to Correct It From Playing Upside Down

    • 1). Launch Windows Movie Maker. Open the "File" menu. Browse through your local folders and select the AVI file you wish to edit. Once the file is selected, click "OK."

    • 2). Drag the video clip from the large middle panel down to the storyboard at the bottom of the screen. If the AVI is a large file, Movie Maker may automatically divide the file into several clips. If this is the case, you will need to repeat the following steps for each separate clip.

    • 3). Right-click on the video within the storyboard. Select "Effects" to open the video effects menu. There will be a list of various effect options on the left side of the window. Scroll down to find the option "Rotate 180." Select this option and click "Add." Click "OK."

    • 4). Click the "Tasks" button at the top of the screen. Expand the "Finish Movie" listing by clicking the arrow button beside it. Click "Save to My Computer" to launch the Save Movie Wizard. Type your movie title within the first field. Select the save location from the drop-down menu. Click "Next," then "Next" again. Click "Finish" to save the rotated video clip.
