- 1). Plug the AC power cord of a mixer into a power outlet.
- 2). Plug the RCA end of an RCA-to-1/8th-inch audio cable into the "audio out" RCA jacks in the mixer.
- 3). Plug the 1/8th inch end of an RCA-to-1/8th-inch audio cable into the "line in" input of your computer's sound card.
- 4). Plug one end of an RCA-to-RCA audio cable into the "line out" RCA jacks of your analog device. If your analog device has no RCA jacks, a microphone may be used instead to capture the sound coming from the device.
- 5). Plug the opposite end of the RCA-to-RCA audio cable into the "audio in" RCA jacks in the mixer.
- 6). Open your audio recording software.
- 7). Set the audio recording software's input to "line in."
- 8). Click on the "record" button in your audio recording software and play your analog device.
- 9). Adjust the volume of the audio recording by adjusting the volume on the analog device, the level slider for the input on the mixer and in the audio recording software.

Stop the recording by clicking on the "stop" button in your audio recording software and stop playback from the analog device. - 11
Delete the track you recorded while adjusting the recording levels. - 12
Cue the analog device to the point you wish to begin recording. - 13
Press "record" in the audio recording software to begin recording. - 14
Play the analog device. - 15
Click "stop" in your audio recording software when you are done recording from the analog device. - 16
Click on "File" and "Save" in your audio recording software to save the recording of the analog device.
