Heartburn Symptoms: Easy To Spot, Difficult To Feel And Quite Easy To Avoid

Heartburn is a condition that has nothing to do with the heart or any part of the cardiovascular system.
It has only been named as such because of the close association of the point of manifestation to the heart.
Heartburn is in fact a literal explanation of the burning sensation, which exists in an area closest to where the heart is.
The symptoms of heartburn are widely known, in fact, probably because they are easy to identify that people disregard the severity of the condition as well.
Pain In The Chest: One of the most common of heartburn symptoms is the extreme and sudden pain felt on the chest area.
It often felt like a burning feeling, which can occur almost instantly and debilitating.
Affected individuals would often stop in their tracks, clutch their chest as if to stop the spreading sensation.
It often extends up to the shoulders and neck subsisting for more than an hour or two.
Sometimes, heartburn attack is easily confused with heart attack, and sadly, even with such possibility people still do not seek medical advise.
Pain Felt Upon Swallowing: Apart from the chest pains, another heartburn symptom is dysphagia, or difficulty in swallowing.
The pain is felt not because of an oral occlusion, esophageal blockage or anything of that sort.
People will experience difficulty in swallowing because of the excessive amount of acid that is regurgitated from the stomach.
The presence of acid in the inner regions of the mouth and at the upper parts of the esophagus causes an irritation especially when food comes in contact with it.
In worst situations, dysphagia can also cause choking, another extra painful symptom of heartburn.
Pain Causes Dizziness And Cold Sweating: Whenever there is pain, wooziness follows.
Heartburn is extremely a painful condition and so it is quite common for individuals to feel a little dizzy.
Along with this, cold sweating will also ensue.
Both symptoms are classic expression to the discomfort that a person feels when heartburn attacks.
Hoarseness Of Voice, Asthma-like Symptoms: The continuous backflow of acid from the stomach damages the throat and esophagus.
So along with all the other heartburn symptoms, people can also find their voice change to a lower pitch or upon coughing, will produce a wheezing sound almost the same as that of an asthma attack.
Bitter Taste In The Mouth: A less popular heartburn symptom is having a bitter taste in the mouth.
Heavy eating, improper digestion along with all the other aggravating causes of heartburn does this to a heartburn patient.
Well, heartburn is a sensation that does not easily go away but the symptoms can be tamed, if only people will get down to the very reason why it happens in the first place.
The reflux of the acid, which is actually the reason for the condition, should be the first heartburn symptom to control.
The pain, the wheezing and bitter taste in the mouth are the most common and intense of all heartburn symptoms.
